Emilia and Veneto, where Italy tastes like home

Two of Italy's most celebrated food regions, side by side — where prosciutto is cured by hand, balsamic vinegar ages for decades, and the hills give way to Prosecco vineyards.

Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Aceto Balsamico, the operas of Verdi — few regions in Italy have given the world so much from such a small corner of it.

The journey begins in Parma, a city of music, art and extraordinary food culture — home to Verdi, and to some of Italy’s most celebrated culinary traditions. From here, the route moves toward Bassano del Grappa, at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, where Prosecco vineyards and historic distilleries define a very different — but equally rich — corner of Italy.

Marco Avigo brings decades of experience in Italian hospitality to every stop along the way — private visits to family-run producers, historic cellars, and trattorias that rarely welcome outside guests. This is Italy as it tastes to those who know where to look.
