Food, Wine and Cultural Tour through Emilia and Veneto Regions

Marco Avigo, once again, will be your host during this amazing tour where you will be able to taste specialties that represent Italy all around the World.

The first part of our journey start in Parma city, La ”Petite Capitale” for culture, music and gastronomy. This is the city where Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini were born and where the intelligence of the human beings created Prosciutto di Parma, Culatello di Zibello and Parmigiano cheese. In these days we will savor these specialties directly in the factory where they are produced. We will also visit a traditional “Acetaia” where you will discover the secrets about the production of the “real” balsamic vinegar and the particular technique to age this amazing product. We will visit wineries specialized in the production of Malvasia and Lambrusco, typical wines of this area, eating in traditional restaurants and trattorias around the Parma area where we will enjoy specialties of this city. And last but not least, we will enjoy a private concert in the house where Giuseppe Verdi had his first concert.

From Parma, we will transfer to Bassano del Grappa at the foot of Brenta Dolomites for the second part of our tour. Here we will visit historical Hamlets’ such as Marostica and Asolo, visiting wineries specialized in Prosecco wine in Valdobbiadene, and Breganze wines in Bassano, inside one of the famous “Palladio” Villas. We will have a grappa tasting in one of the most famous distillery of this areas, eating dinners in typical and historical Trattorias’ where you will experience the typical cuisine of Bassano area.

From this tour, you will come back with an unforgettable experience that will enhance your knowledge about Italian food, wines and cultural traditions.

Day 1 (Sunday)
On Sunday morning, Marco will meet you at the airport Marco Polo in Venice. From there, you will transfer to private autobus to our four star Hotel in Parma. After settling into your room for a short rest, we will walk through the historical center of Parma and arrive to “Casa Barezzi”, the house where Giuseppe Verdi had his first exhibition, for our private concert. We will end the day having a nice dinner in a typical restaurant.
Day 2 (Monday)
Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning we will depart to visit a cheese factory where Parmigiano cheese is produced. Here we will see the processing and the different phases on how this amazing cheese is produced. In the afternoon, on our way to Zibello village, we take a short stop to visit Giuseppe Verdi house. Later we will visit a cellar in Zibello on the banks of the Po river specialized on the production and maturation of Culatello di Zibello, an amazing variation of Prosciutto di Parma. The family that runs the farm also own a restaurant where we will have a typical dinner.
Day 3 (Tuesday)
Breakfast in the Hotel. In the morning we will depart to visit a Prosciuttificio, where the prosciutto di Parma is produced. Her we will see all the steps on how prosciutto is made: weighing, salting, and room seasoning. After a tasting of their products, we will transfer to visit a winery specialized in the production of Malvasia wine. Later we will return to Parma where we will have dinner in a typical restaurant.
Day 4 (Wednesday)
Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning we will depart to visit a “Acetaia” specialized in the production of “Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena” and Lambrusco wine. Here, we will learn the process of making and aging the Aceto, and discover the story of this particular wine through a pleasant wine tasting. We will have lunch in a trattoria where we will enjoy typical dishes prepared with these products. Later In the afternoon we will return to Parma. Rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 5 (Thursday)

After breakfast in the Hotel we will depart to the village of Bassano del Grappa, in Veneto region. After sitting in our four star hotel. We will have lunch at the historical Birreria Ottone in Bassano. In the afternoon we will return to Bassano for an interesting one of the kind grappa tasting in the historical distillery Nardini. You will have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. We will have a seafood dinner in a restaurant on the hills of Bassano del Grappa.

Day 6 (Friday)

Breakfast in the Hotel. At 10:00 am we will depart to the Hills of Valdobbiadene to visit a winery specialized in the production of Prosecco. Here we will have a wine tasting with a light lunch. In the afternoon on our way to return to Bassano, we will stop to visit on the most famous, historical Hamlet’s called Asolo. After a nice aperitif in Asolo square, we will have dinner in another typical trattoria in Bassano suburban area.

Day 7 (Saturday)

Breakfast in the Hotel. Later in the morning we will depart to visit a winery inside an amazing Villa Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, This winery is specialized in the production of Breganze wines and EVOO. You will have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure in Bassano. in the afternoon we will return to Bassano for an interesting one of the kind grappa tasting in the historical distillery Nardini. Later in the afternoon we will transfer to visit the Hamlet of Marostica where we will have our wine dinner in a typical trattoria

Day 7 (Sunday)
After Breakfast in the Hotel, we will drive to the airport for our depart to USA
